Bell And Newspapers Feature Among Rises
Television and newspaper stocks featured among advances by New Zealand issues yesterday. Bell rose Is to 37s 3d, Begg 3d to 235, 9d, New Zealand Newspapers a further 3d to 73s 3d, Pye 3d to 19s 6d, Wellington Publishing 6d to 31s 6d and Wilson and Horton 3d to 27s 3d.
Over-all the market closed the week on a firm note, but in the New Zealand list less frequently-traded stocks added some strength. Australian rises were well ahead of falls.
Other gains were made by Dominion Breweries, McKendrick, Burnett, Ivon Watkins Dow, J. Wattie, Mason Struthers—up 4d to 5s 4d Manthel and Neill Cropper.
