Band Leaves For Tour

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 5. The National Band left Auckland by air today for three months’ tour of Canada and the United States. The cornet section of the band played “Now Is The Hour” to a crowd of wellwishers at the airport. The Aotearoa maori group, which will perform traditional Maori songs and dances with the band on the tour, also left today. The band’s first engagement will be in the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, on Sunday. It will play for two weeks at the Canadian National Exhibition at Toronto.
