NEW N.Z.B.C. SERVICE
Programmes For Overseas (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 5. Since the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation set up an overseas exchange section last May, 409 programmes had been sent overseas to 43 countries, the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr Scott) said in Parliament today. It was still too early, however,. to judge the reaction overseas, he told Mrs E. Tombleson (Govt., Gisborne). To Dr. A. M. Finlay (Opp., Waitakere), Mr Scott said some of the programmes were supplied free of charge, and all prospective users would be informed of the service.
When Dr. Finlay asked if all New Zealand overseas agencies, such as diplomatic offices, had a list of programmes, Mr Scott said he was not certain, but inquiries would be made.
