Australian Capacity (N.Z. Press Assn —-Copyright) SYDNEY, August 6. The Minister for Supply, Mr Allen Fairhall, said today that Australia had the capacity to produce war materials at a moment’s notice. He said that industrial companies, were geared to change from commercial to war production. However, there were certain exceptions, such as missile production and complex materials. The Minister was speaking at Sydney airport before leaving for New Zealand. While in New Zealand Mr Fairhall will inspect engineering and tool-making companies. He was commenting on a statement made by the British Defence Minister, Mr Denis Healey, that Australia might have to look more to its own defence.
