Successful Firing (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, August 6. Indonesia today announced the first successful firing of its recently acquired Russianmade air-to-ground long-range guided missiles. An Indonesian Embassy spokesman in Canberra said that the missiles were fired from six Russian-built TUI6 long-range jets over east Java to an uninhabited island 250 miles away in the Java Sea. The spokesman said that the tests were held on July 24.
