FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An intense anti-cyclone covers New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds, mainly north-easterlies; extensive areas of fog or low cloud this morning, otherwise mainly fine and cool. Marlborough and Nelson.—Light or moderate variable winds; a few morning fog patches, otherwise fine with moderate afternoon temperatures. Buller and Westland.—Light or moderate winds; partly cloudy with moderate afternoon temperatures. Outlook: Cloudy in Westland and possibly some scattered rain later in the south; elsewhere partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
