CHOIR GIVEN HOSIERY
Trip-T o-Britain Appeal Christchurch’s Harmonic Society choir will not have to worry about cold feet when it sings in the great concert halls of Britain next month. A North Island firm Las included a substantial gift of hosiery for choir members with its donation of £250 towards the cost of the choir’s trip to the Commonwealth Arts Festival. The gift of Holeproof Mills, Ltd., of Auckland, was acknowI edged with other recent donations by Mr G. A. G. Connal, chairman of the Christchurch Civic Music Council, last evening. Other contributions were: Gifts of £100: Canterbury Savings Bank, Dominion Motors, Ltd., the Christchurch “Star,” Gough. Gough and Hamer. Ltd., Midland Motorways Services. Ltd., the Waimairi Countv Council. Gifts of £5O: the A.M.P. Society, Wellington; Allied Motors, Ltd., Wellington;- the Marathon Rubber Company, Ltd., M. O’Brien and Company, Ltd.
