Shield Challenge WANGANUI TO TRY AGAIN

f.Vew Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. August 6. Taranaki is favoured to retain the Ranfurly Shield against Wanganui at New Plymouth tomorrow, in the second challenge match of the season.

This is in spite of , Wanganui's last two j challenges which resulted in close matches. In 1963 Taranaki scored a last-minute try to keep the shield and last year the winger. C. L. Pierce, missed a conversion attempt that would have won the match for Wanganui. Pierce has returned to the Wanganui team in the hope that he will repeat his stupendous points-scoring feats of o’her .vears. He scored all Wanganui’s 27 points in the last two challenges against Taranaki. The shield holder has its
