MEAT BOARD ELECTION
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 5. The Meat Board today announced results of ballots in North Otago and Southland for seats on the board’s electoral committee. In North Otago, Mr W. Malcolm was elected, beating Mr S. M. Hurst with 491 votes to 200. In Southland, Mr W. S. Johnston (953 votes) and Mr G. J. Puilar (904) were elected. Unsuccessful candidates were Mr W. G. Miller (483) and Mr D. J. Lamont (358).
The overwhelming majority of the nation do not basically approve of public mockery partially paid for by those being mocked. —Sir Peter Rawlinson, on the 8.8. C.
