David Jeff Picked For Hastings
“The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. David Jeff and Watchet form - the favourite combination for the T.A.B. double at the Hawke’s Bay—Dannevlrke Hunt Club's meeting at Hastings tomorrow. David Jeff, a previous winner on the course, was a good fourth two starts ago at Trentham and at his last start finished from last to sixth on the small Levin track where he was opposed by a large field. The only others which appeal in the Springvale Handicap are Pursuit and Athlone. Watchet looks well weighted for the Awanui Hack Handicap after his Trentham placing and his track work suggests he will beat the last-start winner. Dark Song.
