Plans Made To Expand (N Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) MELBOURNE, August 5. Repco Ltd., Australia’s biggest automotive spare parts group, has announced further expansion plans in New Zealand. The company has acquired 100 per cent ownership of Associated Engineering (N.Z.) of Auckland. Associated Engineering (N.Z.) was previously jointly owned by Repco and Associated Engineering of Leamington Spa, England. Directors of Repco also announced today that a “major establishment of facilities” for Repco Manufacturing Company (N.Z.) will soon be undertaken at the company's Upper Hutt site. Important Market New Zealand is Repco’s most important export market.
The announcement adds that Associated Engineering (N.Z.) has acquired a 51 per cent interest in Glacier Bearings New Zealand, of Auckland, makers of automotive engine bearings. The purchase was made from the Glacier Metal Company of the United Kingdom, a subsidiary of Associated Engineering.
