Market Again Firm On Broader Front
Both New Zealand and overseas issues were again firm yesterday, with key stocks leading the trend, over a wide range of share trading. Turn-over on the Christchurch Stock Exchange was again high and business was brisk.
Among New Zealand gains Bea th at 8s 3d and Giant at 8s 9d each rose 3d. C.O.P. added a further Id to 14s 4d, New Zealand Newspapers 9d to 73s and Quill Morris 3d to 245, while Schofield recovered 9d to 51s 9d and Wilson and Horton improved 6d to 275.
Most fluctuations by overseas stocks were narrow, but National Mortgage rose 3d to 12s 3d while Australian Consolidated Industries lost Is to 50s and G. J. Coles 2d to 12s lOd.
