Untidy Industry
Sir, —The Christchurch Regional Planning Authority has advertised the Waimairi County Council to zone specially for untidy industries Concrete and timber are men tioned. Has this recommendation no bearing upon Christchurch’s main city streets? , Are residential amenities and city road use of less importance to planning bodies for preservation than those in county areas? Should citizens be inflicted with untidy, unhealthy, industrial premises and their accompanying distressing noise, dirt, and vibration? All are countenanced and permitted by those now counselling the Waimairi County Council otherwise. —Yours, etc., POTS OR KETTLES. August 5, 1965.
