Driving Tests
Sir,—l read of complaints about the standard driving test. There is no need for anyone to fail this test if before he or she goes for it. the questionnaire is studied from back to front. No high I.Q. is needed. The questions are all com:-on sense. Toe many drivers do not know the rules of the road. The questionnaire and Road Code study are important. It would be useless for anyone to go for a licence without the knowledge these books contain, A lot of work and time went into these books, and with the ever-increasing accident rate they do provide a better knowledge of the road. The traffic officers are very helpful and realise that the applicant is nervous and allow for this. My advice to would-be drivers is to read these books until they know all the answers. I did not find the test too tough.— Yours, etc., (MRS) NOELA POPE. August 4, 1965.
