Better Entries For Fat Stock Show
There has been a big increase in the number of entries for the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Grand National Fat Stock Show which will be held at Addington Saleyards on Monday, with the show stock being sold on Tuesday.
The entries this year total 348, including 186 cattle entries and 162 sheep entries. Last year they totalled 216 including 116 cattle entries and 100 sheep, and in 1963 187 including 92 cattle entries and 95 sheep entries. It is thought that the very favourable conditions in the recent autumn may have been a factor in the better support this year. Entries for this year’s show are drawn from as far I away as Middlemarch in the I south and Hanmer in the inorth and Hari Hari on the I West Coast.
