The salary ranges are:— Senior Lecturer, £A32O0 —6 x £lOO—£A3BDO. Lecturer, £A2400—7 x £loo—SENIOR LECTURER IN PHYSICS The appointee should have a Ph.D. in Physics (or equivalent in research publications) and some University teaching experience. He should have an intimate knowledge of some branch of physics to the extent that he is competent to lecture on it to graduates and Final Honours undergraduates. (September 3). SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN GEOLOGY PETROLEUM GEOLOGIST Applicants should have a Science degree specialising in Geology and research experience to Ph.D. or comparable level. He should have recent experience in a productive oil field, and be well trained in modern petroleum techniques as well as having experience in exploration geology. The appointee will be expected to teach and develop modern petroleum geology, a field in which the Department has recently become actively engaged (August 27). The University provides superannuation similar to F.S.S.U., housing assistance, study leave and travel grants. Preference will be given to candidates qualified to teach advanced courses, and interested in pursuing research, in individual differences and/or mathematical psychology (as distinct from statistics), but an appointment in general experimental psychology will be considered in the case of a candidate whose predominant interest is in learning Research facilities are excellent, and include newly-built and specially designed animal laboratories, a fully automatic operant conditioning laboratory, facilities for advanced work in neurophysiology, psycho-pharmacology and vision, and the availability of the University computer (1.8. The status of Senior Lecturer may be awarded as a mark of personal distinction either on initial appointment or by subsequent promotion.
