DUNEDIN, July 23. “The Government has been fprtanaite in the continuing high prosperity of the nation, but lit can be freely claimed that its taxation and other incentives have contributed very materially to tlhe buoyancy of tlhe economy and the outlook of farmers and businessmen as they plan for tlhe future.” This is stated in the report of the National Party's Dominion Council, to be presented to the party’s annual confer-
enoe which will open in Dunedin tomorrow. “The growing success in export promotion is directly attributable to Government action and encouragement,” says the report. “One of the impressive features of the second National Government,” it continues, “has been its steady and faithful implementation of election undertakings. “There is every reason to believe that by tlhe end of the present term most, if not all, of our 1963 undertakings will have been realised in law or in administration. “This achievement will undoubtedly set a standard by which later governments will be judged, and has gone a long way to demolish the scepticism which used to be abroad about party promises during election campaigns.”
