’Copters For Aust. Army
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.PA.) SYDNEY, July 23. The Australian Army is gradually taking to the air. Over the next three months the Army will take delivery of 17 new helicopters for reconnaissance and spotting duties. The helicopters will supplement the nine helicopters and 12 fixed-wing aircraft already in service with the 16th Army light aircraft squadron. The new helicopters will carry two passengers and will have a top speed of 105 miles an hour and an endurance range of nearly four hours. They are American-made.
