AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE THE AUCKLAND Harbour Bridge Authority Intend to invite tenders in September this year for the widening of the Auckland Harbour Bridge in New Zealand. This will comprise the addition of two new structures, one each side of the present bridge, supported on the existing foundations and each having 2 traffic lanes. The work will consist of minor alterations to the piers and foundations, which are of reinforced concrete, and the fabrication, supply and erection of some 7000 tons of structural steel, largely in welded platework. Contractors wishing to be invited to tender should apply to the Consulting Engineers, Freeman, Fox and Partners, at 25 Victoria Street, (South Block), London, S.W.I by the 31st July, giving evidence that they have the resources for such work and have had adequate previous experience in this type of construction. Tenders will only be invited from Contractors who satisfy the Bridge Authority and the Consulting Engineers in these respects. Prospective Contractors will be notified during August and those selected will later, on payment of deposit, be sent tender documents. 7887
