COLLEGE XV WINS, 9-3
Second Half Ascendancy "The Press" Special Service TIMARU, July 20. St. Andrew’s College had a weijMeserved 9-3 win aganns't Timaru Boys’ High School at Fraiser Park today. A strong westerly wind prejudiced the chances of the backs and passes were often swept off their course when the backs tried to open up play. Timaru led 3-0 at half-time, but the St. Andrew’s players had the wind at their backs in the second half. However, the Timaru pack, in which R. FaMoon and L. Spence were ailways prominent, was not easily vanquished, and ft was only in the final 15 minutes that Sti Andrew's’ got on top. St. Andrew s had a robust pack leader in R. W. Hearn, who was solidly supported by B. McMillian. The best of its backs were K. Adams and D Mcßae, the big kicking of McRae often driving back the Timaru forwards. R Moore scored a try for St Andrew's and Mcßae kicked two penalties. B McCuXy kicked a penalty tor Timaru.
