VOYAGE TO TASMANIA
Liner Has 238 Empty Berths (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 14. The 12,000-ton liner Emnress of Australia sailed from Sydney for Tasmanian ports last night with 12 passengers and a crew of 105 to look after them. Five of the passengers were children under 11. Altogether there were 238 empty berths in the £2.Bm liner. The passengers can expect a comfortable voyage,, with 11 cooks, 45 stewards and two stewardesses to take care of them. The relieving master of the liner. Captain J. R. Taylor, said that, although there were few passengers, the ship had a good load of cargo. Few people wanted to go to Tasmania, where it was cold during June and July, said a spokesman for the Australian National Line which operates the ship.
