U.S. MAY PLAY IN TESTS
(N.ZP.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, July 15. Sweeping change! aimed at making cricket administration worldwide may be accepted at today’s meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference in London. The I.C.C. agenda is never made public before this annual meeting of delegates frbm the six test-playing countries within the Commonwealth. But changes in the rules permitting countries from outside the Commonwealth to join, which were first discussed in 1964, are expected to be approved. This would mean a change of title from Imperial to the International Cricket Conference, and would re-open the door to South Africa. It ceased to be a member after leaving the Commonwealth. Increase Membership The new proposals would also help several countries, who, although not up to test standard, would welcome the opportunity to be more closely connected with the leading cricket nations. These countries, which it is thought might be given asso-
ciate membership of the new 1.C.C., include Ceylon, Canada, the United States. Denmark, Holland, Argentina, Uganda, Kenya, and Malaysia. A new definition of the difficult problem of throwing may also emerge from the meeting, which will also discuss other cricket law changes. The conference is private, but the M.C.C. will issue a statement after the meeting.
