RULING ON SNELL
Committee Complies (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 14. The Peter Snell Youth Village Appeal Committee will change the name of the show it is to stage from “The Peter Snell Charity Spectacular” to “The Peter Snell Youth Village Charity Spectacular,” to protect Snell’s amateur status in athletics. The name of the pop record to be released at the end of the month will be changed from “Wait For Me, Peter” to “Wait For Me.” The decision was made after discussions in Wellington between representatives of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association and the Peter Snell Youth Village Committee.
The vice-president of the appeal committee (Miss Paula Brannen) said today that the committee was quite happy to comply with the association’s ruling.
