PARENTS’ GIFTS TO SCHOOLS
Withholding Suggested (N.Z. Preaa Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 14. Many Taranaki parents’ donations to school committees may be withheld in future. The annual meeting of the federation of Taranaki Par-ent-Teacher Associations at Inglewood decided that all associations affiliated to the federation would be asked to withhold parents’ donations to school committees. This decision was made because the meeting thought that the Education Department, by not supplying sufficient essential equipment to schools, was depending too much on donations from parents. The federation president, Mr F. Bunker, said new educational schemes were not being implemented completely throughout New Zealand.
