As traffic starts to leave the ground again in the afternoon, cars for the north will first be directed south into the State highway and will not be permitted to make a left hand turn across the railway line. This traffic will proceed south to the intersection with the Chertsey Kyle road and will turn north again into the Chertsey line road to regain the State highway. At the same time southbound traffic from Rakaia will be directed across the railway crossing to the north of Chertsey and will not be permitted to enter the Chertsey line road. In the afternoon traffic from the South will be directed Into the Chertsey Kyle road and may travel north by the Chertsey line road to rejoin the State highway. Traffic Officer Fox said that traffic officers would be on duty at all key points and no difficulty was anticipated provided drivers followed the instructions of the officers.
