Christchurch Sales Of Chambers At 40s
Sales of John Chambers were made at 40s in Christchurch yesterday on news of the counter-bid by R. A. Brierley, while in Dunedin a parcel of 50 changed hands at 41s. There was a firmness about the market again yesterday. New Zealand issues showed 17 rises and 11 falls; overseas stocks had eight rises, five falls and none unchanged. New Zealand Breweries rose 3d to 13s lOd and Taranaki Brewery 8d to Ils 9d. Australian leaders improved with A.C.I. up Is 6d at 52s 6d.
