Remanded On Robbery Count
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 4. Two . men facing joint charges of burglary and robbery in connexion with the armed hold-up of the Bank of New Zealand’s Avondale agency were further remanded in custody to July 9 when they appeared before Mr A. A. Coates, S.M. They are Daniel Huntwell McMillan, aged 28, no occupation stated, and David Harley Western, aged 20, a student.
They were jointly charged with breaking and entering the agency on June 10 with intent to commit a crime and on the same date robbing Jeffrey Lynn Julian and Murray James Ness of £15,273 13s 2d, the property of the bank.
Both were also charged with being rogues and vagain that they had in
their possession on June 23 housebreaking implements and on June 24 an offensive weapon.
