EXECUTIVE OF BANK
Appointment Of Samoan (N.Z. Press Association) APIA, July 2. A Samoan has been appointed to executive rank at the Bank of Western Samoa for the first time. He is Mr H. D. Phineas, a former scholarship student in New Zealand, who has been appointed supervisor of the newly-formed development branch.
The manager, Mr R. J. Sylvester, said the appointment “is important and it is particularly fitting that a local officer should hold it.”
