Mustang Wins At Rosehill
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright! SYDNEY. The New Zealand-owned and bred Mustang, an uncertain starter in next Saturday’s Dbomben Cup, probably made his chance of a trip to Queensland secure when he won the Rosehill Handicap in fine style at Rosehill on Saturday. Mustang won by two lengths from Little Corporal, with another New Zealand horse. Swindler, third. Mustang’s trainer, F. Dalton, is not over-confident about the stronger Doomben Cup field. But Mustang is particularly well weighted. On Saturday Mustang was heavily backed, firming from 4/1 to favouritism at 2/1, then easing a little to start at 9/4. Some of the wagers against him were £3OOO to £750, £1650 to £7OO, and £llOO to £4OO.
