Mastiff Has New Owner

Mastiff changed hands at the week-end and will do his future racing for Mr B. G. Rutherford, who will have him trained at Riccarton by D. J. This toll.

This is the second time he has changed hands in Idle last few weeks. He did much of his racing for his breeder, Mr P. D. Hall, who sold him in the autumn to Mr J. A. Wilson, of Dunedin.

In his sixth start for Mr Wilson and from J. C. McKerrow’s Washdyke stable, the Dogger Bank gelding won the Marlborough Racing Club’s Weld Novice Stakes on May 3. He was a consistent minor place-getter for Mr Hall when trained at Riccarton by C. G. Humphries. Rise arid Shine, the dam of Mastiff, was sold to an Australian stud recently.
