Output Lifted By Zinc Corp.
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 4. Zinc Corporation. Ltd., wholly-owned subsidiary of Conzinc Riot into of Australia and largest of the four mines on the Broken Hili field, lifted metal output sharply in the first half of the current year.
New Broken Hill Consolidated, 32 per cent owned by C.R.A., lifted zinc production but silver and lead output again declined. Zinc Corporation treated 416,184 tons of ore in the first 24 weeks of the current year compared with 311,141 tons in the first 25 weeks period last year and 405.550 tons in 1963.
Output of zinc jumped 32 per cent from 26,628 tons to 35,192 tons but was still below the 37.631 tons produced in the first half of 1963.
