Key Factor
“The key factor in pro< duction increases is the level of feeding of the flock, and in particular the care of the young stock which are the flocks of tomorrow. A well-treated lamb or hogget will continue to pay dividends in wool and output for the rest of its life.” This is the conclusion of Mr F. L. Ward, district officer of the Meat and Wool Boards' Economic Service, in a review of production trends on 26 high country runs in the South Island between 1952-53 and 1961-62.
