TOURS YOUTH TRAVEL TOUR TO EUROPE AND AROUND THE WORLD, 1966 THE YOUTH TRAVEL ASSOCIATION ("younger set” of World Circle Tours) (founded in N.Z. by Mr and Mrs J. L. Departing Wellington in P. and 0.-Orient Lines "Orcades” (one class) on May 4, 1966; calling Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Colombo, Bombay, Aden, Port Said, Naples, Lisbon. ITINERARY: Arrive London, June 11. Programme will include a week in London (hotel with all meals provided); full sightseeing—Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, St. Paul’s, Regent's park Zoo, Petticoat Lane, Madam Tussauds, Thames excursion, Houses of Parliament, etc. Ten-day coach tour of Britain; economy hotels, all meals and sightseeing included; picnic lunches; via Cambridge, Lincoln, York, Newcastle to Edinburgh: Forth Bridge; Trossachs country, Loch Katrine, Loch Lomond (launch trip), Glasgow; then via Burns Country and Gretna Green to Windermere, English Lake District, via Southport and Liverpool, Mersey Tunnel to Chester, ancient walled city; into North Wales, Mold, Denbigh, Corwen, Llangollen; via Shrewsbury and Hereford to Gloucester, Bath; visit Clovelly (Devon), Bude (Cornwall), Exeter; return to London is via Stonehenge and Windsor Castle; two more days in London. Dover to Ostend by sea .Ostend to Brussels (three nights, with tour into Holland to visit Rotterdam, The Hague, and Amsterdam (canal eruise): In Brussels we ascend the Atomium. Into Germany, to Cologne on the Rhine. Up the Rhine Valley, part way is by steamer. Next, Mainz, Heidelberg (castle) and autobahn to Munich, capital of Bavaria, with its famous clock performing once daily. Night, typical German music. Southward now, Olympic Highway via Garmisch-Partenkirchen (detour to Oberammergau) and into Austria to Innsbruck, capital of the famous Tyrol. Night, Tyrolean, concert. South via Europa Bridge and Brenner Pass to Dobbiacco in the Dolomites, north Italy. From the Italian Alps, we arrive at Venice, and reach our hotel by gondola. A day at leisure In Venice. Next to Florence (overnight) and Rome (three nights), full sightseeing including St. Peter's. Then to Milan, leading industrial city. View Leonardo's famous painting, "The Lgst Supper"; climb amongst the 150 spires of the cathedral.

Enter Switzerland, Lake Lugano and over the Alps, St. Gotthard Pass, to Lake Lucerne. A day in Lucerne, then via Berne (Swiss capital) and Neuchatel in to France, passing through the pine-clad forests of the Jura Mountains to Dijon. Here we sample tasty snails. Then to Paris (ah Paris!) three nights in our little hotel near the Folies Bergere; lots of sightseeing Eiffel Tower (up to the top), Arch of Triumph, Louvre to see Mona Lisa. Montmartre artists’ quarter, Notre Dame, Saint Chappelle, Left Bank—and the shops. Ticket to the Folies included. Then we go north to Belgium again, to Bruges, and next morning back to London via Dover. Now comes a “free period” for own choice; visiting relatives, or more time in London, or further travel according to taste (such as Ireland, Spain) Some people work for a while in London, for experience.
