Unemployed
The number of unemployed in Christchurch last month was a big reduction on the corresponding month last year, said the acting District Superintendent of the Labour Department (Mr A. B. Tuck). Last month there were 51 unemployed persons in Christchurch. In June last year there were 122 unemployed. Figures for last month were 44 unemployed males, of whom 21 were on unemployment benefit and seven unemployed females, of whom four were on unemployment benefit.
