Bowls Left Out
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 2. Seven sports, chosen at last night’s meeting of the Auckland Empire Games committee, were boxing, cycling. fencing. gymnastics, rowing, weight-lifting and wrestling. There were 11 available. Auckland will now recom-i mend that these sports, together with the compulsory' two—athletics and swimming —be the basis of the 1970 Empire Games should its application to stage the festival prove successful. The four sports eliminated were archery. badminton, bowls and shooting.
