POSING FOR A FIGUREHEAD.—Mrs Leonore Tardif, of Sydney, posing for the figurehead of the sailing ship New Endeavour at Ramsgate, Kent. The sculptor, who is working on a plaster cast, is Mr P. Rasmussen, also of Sydney. The finished figurehead will be of wood and plastic. The New Endeavour, which was built in Denmark in 1919, is being prepared for a five-month cruise to Australia The crew of 23 will include Mrs Tardif and her husband, a computer engineer. Mrs Tardif will be the only woman on board.
