Heards Buy N.Z. Licorice

AUCKLAND, June 21.
Heard’s, Ltd., Auckland confectionery manufacturer, has acquired the capital of the N.Z. Licorice Company, Wellington, in a share and cash deal.
As well as the cash payment, Heard’s will issue 16,500 ordinary shares of 20s each and 25,000 new preference shares. N.Z. Licorice, established in 1938, manufactures medicated licorice and licorice confectionery. It has a factory at Rongotai and a substantial proportion of the New Zealand market for these products.
