OLD BOYS’ BALL
Timaru And Waitaki
Five hundred and fifty guests, attended the annual combined bail of the North Canterbury branches of the Timaru and Waitahi High School Old Boys’ Associations, in the Winter Garden on Saturday. They were welcomed by the senior vice-president of the Timaru association (Mr R. C. Halliday) and Mrs Halliday, and the president of the Waitafci association (Mr Z. Harris) and Mrs Harris. Crests in the schools’ colours of blue and white and red and black were featured among florai arrangements and pot plants in the foyer and ballroom. Specially-invited guests included representatives of kindred associations those of St. Andrew’s College, Christ’s College, St. Bede's College, Christchurch Boys’ High School, Otago Boys’ High School, Southland Boys’ High School, King's High School, St. Kevin’s College, Timaru Girls’ High School, and Waitaki Girls’ High School. The committee which organised the ball comprised Messrs R. C. Halliday, J. Z. Harris, D. W. Johnson, J. A. Whitcombe, M. K. Whale, and M. L. Rooney.
