AIRPORTS ACCOUNT

£366,450 To Be Spent

A total of £366.450 is estimated to be spent on the Christchurch International Airport this year. No call will be made on the City Council’s general rate. The total is the expenditure from the pool, the airport being run by the council and the Government in partnership. Pool receipts are estimated at £202.750. In addition the council estimates that it will receive £2550 from non-pool payments. Among the major receipts are £67,500 from landing dues (last year £60.136), £80.250 from the terminal building area, including £32,000 from rents and a similar amount from concessions, and £32,100 from rented and leased areas. New capital works this year include £30,000 for extensions to the overseas terminal and £50,000 for extensions to the domestic terminal. Both are for first-stage development. An amount of £25,000 is provided for the first stage of the freight terminal and £29,000 is estimated for extension to the terminal apron
