In North Yorkshire Mr Tennyson Harris. public analyst to the North Riding County Council, says not less than one-twentieth of the I weight of the whole pie. I He set this figure after examining a pie sent to him Iby Mr Charles Miller, the I country’s chief weights and ! measures inspector. Mr Harris found that a; quarter of the pie's weight! was meat—but if there wasj any kidney present it was less than 1 per cent. After receiving Mr Harris’ report Mr Miller acted. When the county council next! I meets he will be able to report that the manufacturers iof the deficient pie were : taken before the local! i magistrate and fined fo with '£3 18s costs.
