Told “Get Yer Hair Cut”
(London Correspondent of “The Press") New Zealand’s 19-year-old pop singer, Dinah Lee, arrived in Britain after three weeks in the United States to he greeted by cries of: “Get yer hair cut!” The cries came not from any Army sergeant-major but from her managers and recording agents in London. The reason was that Dinah looked too much like the British pop singer, Cilla Black. It was felt that people might judge her as an imitator if her hair curled under her chin.
So a few days ago Dinah went along to the West End salon of Andre Bernard to receive the personal attention of Edward, the hair-stylist. She came out sporting the latest mod style, which has been made popular by the dress designer, Mary Quant and others.
