BLONDIN carrying his timorous manager, Harry Colcord, of Chicago, across a rope stretched over the Niagara Falls. Years later Colcord still broke into a cold sweat when he recalled his experience. Blondin, who was born in 1824 and died in 1897, was French by birth. His name was Jean Francois Gravelet.
