Demonstration With Eggs
The road safety council at Taree, in northern New South Wales, is using eggs in model cars to demonstrate the need for safety belts. A council display contains a small ramp, two model cars and two eggs. One egg, called “Ego Egbert” is placed behind the steering wheel of a car. The other, called “Safety Sam,” is held in place by a miniature safety belt. The operator tilts the ramp and the cars gather speed until they crash. “Ego Egbert” flies out of one vehicle, but the seat belt saves “Safety Sam.” The council is using the display in a film for release throughout Australia.— (N.Z.P.A.)
