Missed A Medal
The Sheffield United centre-half and captain, Joe Shaw, missed a ceremony that few English soccer players have attended when he played against Blackpool at English Park on Saturday. Had he been in England on Saturday, Shaw would have been presented with a long service medal by the English Football Association. This is given to players who spend 20 years with the same club. Shaw, one of the greatest centre-halves produced by England, completed his 20 years with Sheffield United this year. He will get his medal when he returns to England.
