Italians Win Cup Final

Internazionale - Milan retained the European Soccer Cup when it beat Benfica, of Portugal, 1-0, in the final at Milan yesterday. Benfica, twice winner of the trophy; lost its goal-keeper, Costa-Pereira, with a leg injury after 56 minutes. The Brazilian-born right-winger, Jair, scored the winning goal in the 43rd minute. It is the third successive year that an Italian club has won Europe’s leading competition. A.C. Milan took the cup from Benfica in 1963 and last year Internazionale won it at its first attempt.
