DEMONSTRATORS IN PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS stage a sit-down protest against the Government’s decision to send troops to South Vietnam. The photograph on the left shows a small group of the “squatters” in the foyer of the Prime Minister’s suite, with a Parliamentary messenger looking on. That on the right shows a young man being restrained by a policeman from re-entering Parliament Buildings after he had been ejected. The Prime Minister later permitted the demonstrators, who were passive and silent, to stay outside his office. —Photographs by wire.
