"MISS N.Z.” FINALISTS

The 11 finalists for this year’s “Miss New Zealand” contest were introduced to the public for the first time in Christchurch by Miss Lynda! Cruickshank, “Miss New Zealand” 1964, in a city store yesterday afternoon.

Looking trim and composed, the young women, whose average age is 20, wore wool suits. Most of them favoured varying shades of green, brown, and blue. They are visiting Christchurch in the course of a tour of New Zealand which will come to a climax with the final of the contest in Dunedin on June 7.

Templeton C.W.l.—The following officers were elected by the Templeton Country Women’s Institute recently: President, Mrs V. Curragh; vice-presidents, Mesdames R. Hooper and I. Simpson; secretary, Mrs M. Wheeler; treasurer, Mrs P. Voice; committee, Mesdames E. McGonagle, M. McKinnon, and P. Slatery. Competition winners were Mrs V. Curragh 1, Mrs E. Hill 2.
