Market Steadies At Close Of Trading
Australian issues weakened and key New Zealand stocks came into balance as trading closed for the week on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday.
However, rises by New Zealand shares headed falls with Canterbury Frozen Meat up 6d to 41s and Southland Frozen Meat up 3d to 26s 3d. C.O.P. rose 7d to 13s 9d, while the unlisted T. J. Edmonds sold in Christchurch at 77s 6d, up 2s.
Only three stocks in the overseas list advanced: Ampol 1967 notes, Factors and L. J. Hooker each gained Id. Key Australian stocks, among them A.C.1., 8.H.P., G. J. Coles, Waltons and Mount Isa lost ground.
