PILOT KlLLED.—Broken in half and burnt-out, the wreckage of a Masterton de Havilland Beaver top-dressing aircraft is shown within 20ft of the ridge (background) at Awatea, near Tinui, 27 miles from Masterton. The pilot, Mr Harry Jacob Mangham, of Masterton, was killed instantly.
