Boy Seriously Injured
A nine-year-old boy, Jeno Szentivanyi, of 311 New Brighton road, suffered severe head and leg injuries when hit by a car near the corner of Bassett street and New Brighton road last evening.
He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital and placed on the seriously ill list. The accident happened about 7.15 p.m.
Plantations. —Of 274 acres held by the Waimairi County Council for plantations, 170 acres have been planted, and negotiations are taking place to buy another 152 acres, according to the council’s annual report.
